2022 GMC Acadia

For the 2022 model year, GMC eliminated the former base SL trim, making the SLE trim the new base, and as a result, the SLT is now the second trim out of four. With an abundance of safety features, a user-friendly infotainment system, and a spacious interior, the 2022 GMC Acadia SLT is a vehicle worth considering.

The 2022 Acadia SLT has two available powertrain options. The base 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four produces 230 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It provides impressive acceleration for around town or on the highway. For additional power, choose the 3.6-liter V-6 engine that cranks out 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. This option can handle hills, even when the SUV is full of people and gear. Both engines are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle also comes standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available.

Compared to other vehicles in its class, the 2022 Acadia SLT achieves impressive gas mileage. With the base engine and front-wheel drive, expect to get 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. Vehicles with that same engine and all-wheel drive get 22 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Numbers dip slightly with the V-6 engine as those with front-wheel drive achieve 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, while all-wheel-drive vehicles get 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Also, when properly equipped, the SUV has a maximum towing capacity of 4,000 pounds.

Inside the 2022 Acadia SLT, you'll notice how spacious the interior is. Leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable front seat, and tri-zone automatic climate control all come standard. For additional comfort, you can opt for the Preferred package, which includes ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. Cargo space is decent as the SUV has 12.8 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, but folding them down increases that space to 41.7 cubic feet. The maximum capacity is 79 cubic feet. The SUV's user-friendly infotainment system has a responsive 8-inch touch-screen display along with an intuitive menu layout so you can easily adjust settings. It also comes with satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, several USB ports, Bluetooth, navigation, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. You can also add several features, such as wireless device charging and a rear-seat entertainment system.

GMC outfitted the Acadia SLT with almost a dozen standard safety features. More notable ones include front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, forward automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection. The Teen Driver system also allows you to set speed and audio limits for secondary drivers. Adding the Technology package gives you a surround-view parking camera system and a head-up display. Two complete sets of LATCH connectors are found on the second-row outboard seats and tether anchors for the third-row seats.
